A financial workspace helping small businesses manage invoicing with confidence.
I joined Kolecto as Lead Product Designer and grew into Design Manager. Beyond designing key product experiences, I helped structure the design function as the company scaled.
Kolecto helped small business owners manage invoicing without accounting expertise. The challenge wasn't simply designing financial software. It was making complex legal and accounting rules feel approachable for people who don't think like accountants, while the company scaled fast and the design team grew with it.
Business owners managing invoices themselves. They need compliant workflows that stay simple, reassuring and efficient.
Kolecto's parent company. Compliance and reliability are essential, so every product decision balances usability with strict regulatory requirements.
Financial products should feel approachable while staying legally correct.
Owners don't spend their day invoicing. The product helps them finish fast and get back to running the business.
Good products need good teams. Designing the organisation matters as much as designing the product.
I led the redesign of Kolecto's billing experience from discovery to delivery. It started with user research alongside small business owners, then translated legal constraints into clear, step-by-step invoicing flows. The goal wasn't only to help users create an invoice, it was to help them feel confident that every invoice was complete and compliant.
Rather than recreating the desktop experience, the mobile app focused on the most valuable actions owners needed away from the office. Through discovery, we prioritised the tasks that mattered most in the field, then designed a light experience around them. It became a practical extension of the desktop product, not a simplified copy.
As the company grew, my role expanded beyond product design. I led the hiring, ran around fifty interviews and built the design organisation from scratch. Beyond recruiting, I structured onboarding so new designers could become productive quickly and contribute consistently across the product.
The product proved itself in the pilot, and the design function outlasted it. Building the team mattered as much as shipping the product.
